Today, I had a totally mind blowing field trip. We went to Gallaudet University, a college that specializes in the arts. But they also have a school for the deaf there. The field trip was to watch a dance recital produced and performed by individuals who are deaf (or enough to need assistance). It. Was. WICKED. Not ONLY did they exceptionally well, they were high school students. Everything said was also signed and vice versa. It was AMAZING! I suggest seeing a performance by them sometime. You'll really be blown away.
Remember how I mentioned signing? Sign language is...like being on another planet. Imagine being in a COMPLETE SILENT SCHOOL! Few people talked allowed, unless they could talk/were spoken to. YOU felt deaf as you watched conversations take place without sound. I spoke with a woman who was attending the university and knew signing...she said it takes about 2-4 years to pick it all up and once you get the hang of it, it's really quite easy. She and another woman gave me a sign name...the sign for A going in a curvy downwards motion near my hair. I have long hair and my name begins with A...XD I think I may actually try and learn the language again...

WOW o.o That does sound extremely astounding. I'm glad that you had such a wild, mind-blowing experience! I will look around and do some research on it for sure but of course, nothing will take place of actually BEING THERE. XD It's always good to reach for a language, even if you don't always get it you'll certainly take a lot from researching and learning. *nods*
